2nd BTR (Bias Transfer Roll) Assembly (OEM 607K04293) for Xerox® Versant V80, V2100 (WITHOUT TAG 020 only)
For use in Xerox® models: (Versant®) V80, V2100 WITHOUT TAG 20
2nd Bias Transfer Roll (BTR) - Genuine Xerox Brand: 607K04293 / 859K08754
Only good for machines WITHOUT TAG 20. (scroll down for info about where to find the Tag Matrix on the machine)
Tag 20 introduced a new Main Drive Motor Assembly, so check your Tag Matrix (inside the front door). If your machine is WITH Tag 020, then do not use this part--buy instead V180BTRA. Also note that for all V180/V280/V3100 models you must use V180BTRA instead.
If you have an assembly on hand and you want to double check to make sure it is correct, check the sticker on the side of the unit to see whihc OEM part number the unit is. Below is a photo of the sticker you are looking for:
This version of the kit includes hardware to address two other possible earlier configurtions/Tags your machine might or might not have:
This unit comes equipped with the "2a" Upper Inlet Chute for machines "Without Tag 21". If your machine has "Tag 21", you MUST swap the Upper Inlet Chute with the other one included in the package that has the number "20" stamped onto it (20mm wide instead of 21mm wide)(see photos above).
Tag 21 introduced a pre-BackUp Roll (BUR) with a larger outer diameter. Using the wrong metal chute piece will limit the life of your 2nd BTR Roll and IBT Belt severely.
This version of the 2nd BTR Kit also comes with the front end cover and plate mounted on it for machines "With Tag 13" but the other version of the front end cover & plate are included just in case you need them. Tag 13 was called the "Impulse Banding Kit." It added a flywheel at the front end of the main transport drawer right in front of where the 2nd BTR Assembly mounts. If your machine is "Without Tag 13" you will need to use the alternative front cover/plate.
Note: Also check the condition of the BUR Nose Drive Coupling that is mounted on the front end of the BackUp Roll just above where the 2nd BTR Roll sits. If it is stripped, it can also cause prematue wear on the 2nd BTR Roller.
Where is the darned Tag Matrix on these machines after all?:
Quite a few people had trouble spotting the tag matrix even after hearing where it is located. A couple of photos are worth a thousands words as is often the case:
Below is one kind of Tag Matrix... this kind is pressed right into the plastic of the front door:
Below is a sticker version found on a V2100--also found inside the front door:
